HR Function
The HR Function delivers all HR services across the firm and works closely with all Practice Groups and Business Services to deliver against our core global people strategy and key priorities of providing a culture we care about; outstanding career development; an inclusive working environment; and a rewarding deal for all. The HR Operations teams are central to supporting our people and enabling our people priorities.
Role summary/purpose of job
The purpose of this role is to provide comprehensive human resources administration responsibilities across the US and supporting globally. They will support the HR assistants with escalations and knowledge sharing. They are responsible for the provision of administrative support, covering all aspects of the employment lifecycle.
The role requires the job holder to work with some autonomy as they have ownership and responsibility for their own workload, and in particular owning the new joiner processes.
Key responsibilities and deliverables
- Assisting the Head of HR Shared Services in the effective management of the HR Services team ensuring all team members have clear priorities for the day;
- Provide oversight and transactional processing and administration for all main HR processes including on-boarding, job changes, secondments, leavers, retirements, work experience and renewal of fixed term contracts;
- Actively provide updates to the team on performance metrics and key performance indicators to improve the service level offered to stakeholders;
- Responding to internal inquires providing answers; managing the inquiry from initial contact to closure and ensuring a high level of client service. The job holder will ensure that correct and timely advice is provided and escalate issues when appropriate.
- Providing external correspondence to include: employment verification references and mortgage/rental applications;
- Updating documents in response to new legislation or policy changes;
- Involvement in HR projects;
- Updating and maintaining accurate information on the firm’s HR System and other filing systems;
- Building and maintaining effective relationships with the other members of the HR team;
- Provide regular and well-structured feedback to team members for recognizing both good performance and areas for improvement;
- Actively participating in process improvement discussions and implementing necessary changes.
Key requirements (Communication/skills/experience)
Essential
- Proven experience in customer service in a professional or commercial environment
- High level of IT skills, including MS Office and Excel
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive matters and respond effectively to such situations
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written
- Fluent spoken and written English essential
Desirable
- Previous experience in other Law firm administration
- Previous HR Experience
- Previous experience of Workday or other HR database preferable
